Think & Listen

A lot of times i feel that my uneducated grandma has more good qualities than those who are highly educated. I learnt from her to respect, to be compassionate and most of all to be humble. This recalls my memory of a word my parents told me, i forgot it was either high school or pre-uni, but it is not important when but what they said. "No matter what you do, what you have / who you are, be humble."

At first, i thought it was said for the fear we would might step on someone's tail. However, after all the years of living by the saying, i finally found out that it was not for the sake of other people, it was all - for ourselves.

To be humble, theoratically, its very easy. That would means that you do not boast. But that is not all it meant, its not the "do not" that matters, it was the "do".

By being humble, the very first step we gotta do is to listen. Very easily said than be done. How often do we listen to what others have to said. Some very simple conflict can be settled by listening. Alot of tragedies could be avoided if we just open our ears to what is happening around us. Sound dosent travel for no reason. Sound transfer in all direction miraculously so that we all are able to listen, to the heart and minds of other people. We gain more by keeping your mouth shut rather than babbling all the way sometimes.

It is human nature that we hate to admit our weaknesses, but it is our weakness that will makes us understand what area we are lack of and makes us stronger, wiser.

Knowledge is just out there waiting for us to discover, just ask and you shall receive. Many people say i just don't know that / i just dont have the genes of a genius. Its definately a very negative thinking and it will bring you no where. For worst, some even act and talk as they know everything but in fact, they know nothing. Jadilah ubi kayu, jangan jadi tin kosong. If we are unsure, we should and always ask. There's nothing wrong to ask and gain wiser. Why runaway from one question for your whole life when you can just get the solution by asking. We were given ears and mouth for a reason, i believe we are sometimes too lucky that we misuse / forgotten what we have.
